The projects selected for funding were approved at the 15th and 16th Meetings of the Science Board of Georgia National Science Foundation.

In the frame of Short-Term Individual Travel Grants Competition 16 Georgian scientists were financed for March and April planned events.

In the frame of Short-Term Individual Travel Grants Competition 4 Georgian scientists were financed for January and February planned events. Our scientists participate in international scientific conferences and forums in Monte Carlo, Sietl, Petch and Zeneva.

On 12 October, 2009, the Georgia National Science Foundation has announced the third call of "Scientific-Popular Lectures for Public Schools 2010". The goal of the competition is to make science more popular in public schools among the adults. The project takes place in the cities: Tbilisi, Telavi, Mtskheta, Gori, Kutaisi, Senaki, Rustavi, Akhalkalaki, Ozurgeti, Photi, Khelvachauri, Borjomi, Oni, Mestia.

The Georgia National Science Foundation carried out the pre-selection stage in Mathematics 50th international Olympiad, where Georgian team participated as well. The Olympiad was held in the city of Bremen, Germany from July 10 to 22, 2009. The contest took place on 15 and 16 July. Georgia sent a team of six students, born on or after 17 July 1989 and not enrolled at any university or institution. It is important to note, that Georgian Team made huge success. All members returned to the country with medals.

On July 1, 2009 the Georgia National Science Foundation announces the competition State Grants for Young Scientists to work on probation in Foreign Countries.

The aim of the competition is to attract young people in science and to assist in strengthening their capabilities.
The age of the participant in the call should not exceed 35 years.
